Cryptogram Jam has no accounts and no servers of its own, and contains no analytics or crash-reporting SDKs. Bloodhound Studios itself never receives any personal information about you.
The app is not, however, data-free. It shows ads through Google AdMob, and to serve and measure those ads the AdMob SDK collects the following from your device and shares it with Google and Google's advertising partners for advertising purposes:
Every one of those five categories is both collected and shared, and the purpose is advertising. None of it is sold for money. None of it reaches Bloodhound Studios. Where consent is required, ads are non-personalised until you give it. On iOS the app never asks for permission to track you, so the IDFA is not made available to the ad SDK. The one in-app purchase (Remove Ads) is handled by the app store you installed from. Nothing else leaves your device.
The puzzle in progress and your guesses in it, the hints you have used, the number of puzzles you have solved, and the hint credits you hold are saved only on your device. So are the counters that pace ads: puzzles completed and time played since the last ad, and the number of ads shown today. None of this is ever sent to us or to anyone else. Uninstalling the app removes all of it.
Ads are served by Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC. Cryptogram Jam shows two kinds: interstitial ads, shown between puzzles after a solve and never in the middle of one, and rewarded ads, which play only when you choose to watch a video for an extra hint. To serve and measure ads, the AdMob SDK may collect and process:
This data goes to Google, not to Bloodhound Studios. How Google uses it is described in Google's Privacy Policy and in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. You can reset or delete your advertising identifier, and opt out of ad personalisation, in your device's settings, and manage Google ad settings at adssettings.google.com.
Ads are not personalised for users who have not consented where consent is required.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or a US state with applicable privacy law, the app shows a consent form from Google's User Messaging Platform before any ad is requested. The game is fully playable whatever you choose. Wherever these choices apply, you can review or change them at any time from Settings ▸ Privacy Options inside the app.
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, and under comparable laws in other US states, serving personalised ads through AdMob counts as sharing personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. That description applies to Cryptogram Jam. Bloodhound Studios does not sell personal information for money and shares it for no purpose other than advertising, but the sharing does happen whenever personalised ads are served.
To stop it, open Settings ▸ Privacy Options inside the app and decline personalised ads. The choice is passed to the AdMob SDK and applies from the next ad request. You can also switch ad personalisation off at device level: on Android, Settings ▸ Privacy ▸ Ads lets you delete the advertising ID or opt out of personalisation. On iOS, Cryptogram Jam does not request tracking permission, so the IDFA is never available to it. The game stays fully playable, and non-personalised ads continue unless you buy the Remove Ads purchase.
Cryptogram Jam collects no sensitive personal information and makes no automated decisions about you. There is no account to close and no profile for us to delete, because we hold neither. To reach data already held by Google, use the Google links in the Advertising section above.
Cryptogram Jam offers a single one-time purchase, Remove Ads, that removes interstitial ads. Rewarded ads for extra hints stay available and still play only when you choose. Payment is processed entirely by Google Play or the Apple App Store; Bloodhound Studios never receives your name, payment method or billing details. The app reads the store's own purchase record to know whether you own the purchase, including when you tap Restore Purchases, and that record stays with the store under its terms.
Cryptogram Jam is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age in your region) and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Because Bloodhound Studios holds no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete on request. Rights over data processed by Google or your app store are exercised with them, through the links above and your device or store account settings.
If this policy changes, the new version is published at this address with a new effective date.
